Donald “Buddy” and Fran Donofrio bought the restaurant in 1978. It was built in the 1950’s and was a small “take-out” only restaurant, serving ice cream, hamburgers and fries.

In the 1970’s it was sold and then again to Buddy and Fran. The restaurant had been called “Tropical Treat” for all those years. Then in 1984 Buddy had a log cabin added for seating and the name was changed to “Buddy’s Log Cabin Family Restaurant.”

In 1990 Buddy and Fran’s son, Steve, bought the restaurant. Steve operates the restaurant with the same concept as his parents; reasonable prices, family atmosphere and large portions so you don’t go away hungry!
